History of the 7.63mm or 7.65mm Mannlicher Automatic Pistol Cartridge:
The 7.63 (7.65) Mannlicher Automatic Pistol cartridge was introduced in 1901 for the Steyr Mannlicher M1901 self-loading, semi-auto, "blow back" pistol .
It was listed in Austria as "7.63 mm Mannlicher", and designated in Germany as "7.65 mm Mannlicher".
This is a straight-walled rimless cartridge with straight taper to help in extraction and has a non-steel, 85 grain projectile.
It was in production until the beginning of World War II, and has been obsolete for over 70 years.
